United Nations International Peace Day
The International Day of Peace is observed around the world each year on 21 September. Established in 1981 by unanimous United Nations resolution, the Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace.
The 2017 U.N. Peace Day Theme: Together for Peace – Respect, Safety and Dignity for all.
And for Abergavenny Quakers the Peace Project at Hedd Wen peace garden, meeting room and retreat flat is now 5 years old. We invite you to join us for all or any part of a day for reflection and hope. And if you can’t join us please look on the International Peace Day website http://internationaldayofpeace.org/ as there are other ways to join in – some of us will be joining the secret missions for peace or the peace crane project for example.
